Facilities
Training
Located adjacent to the Cranbourne Training Complex is the home of Matthew Hyland Racing Stables. Matthew built the stables in 2002 with specific requirements in mind. A 10 acre property with a total of 28 large spacious boxes and 17 day yards and only 20 kilometers from the Cranbourne town centre.
The stables are comprised of separate feed and gear rooms, horse washes, onsite office and full staff facilities for raceday preparation. This spacious leafy tree lined location is an ideal natural environment for horses in training. Part of their exercise regime is a stroll to the track for their workout (no floating) and then a warm down on their walk home ready for grooming, feeding and raceday preparation.
Matthew personally co-ordinates and manages your horses' complete campaign. He pre-trains, rides trackwork, prepares feed menus, and contracts only the best veterinary, dental and natural therapy specialists in the field. Owners are encouraged to make appointments to visit the stable, spend time with their horses and discuss directly with Matthew their campaigns and progress.
Agistment or “spelling”
Matthew Hyland offers quality thoroughbred agistment to his trained horses and clients associated outside the stable, which takes place on this beautifully manicured property . Twelve one acre individual paddocks and four, four acre paddocks which are primarily used for mares and foals. Matthew works “hands on” daily, overseeing the feeding of the horses and monitoring their progress allieviating any risk.
Nurturing
Breeding also takes place at Officer. Many of Matthew Hyland Racing clients have a keen interest in breeding or are “hobby breeders” .They have the unique opportunity to utilise Matthew's facilities and his experience to manage the ongoing servicing of the Mares. Matthew devises and co-ordinates the breeding program in conjunction with the individual clients who have an interest in breeding . Currently Matthew has a number of broodmares that are proven producers in foal.
